Thursday, April 11, as part of the Hackathon “Smart mobilities and infrastructures: innovation at the service of the community”, promoted in partnership with Microsoft and in collaboration with CIMA – the ITS Campus, Fondazione Triulza had the honour of hosting the Ambassador of the USA to Italy, Jack Markell, who participated in the Hackathon awards event together with a delegation composed of Douglass Benning, U.S. Consul General in Milan; Yoon Nam, Public Affairs Officer; Savannah Hillebrand, Public Diplomacy Coordinator; Jim Hamilton, from the Political/Economic Section of the Consulate in Milan.
Ambassador Markell participated as speaker at the final panel of the Hackathon day, together with Felice Romeo, Director of the Triulza Foundation; Tiziano Durante, Data Center Lead Italian Region Microsoft; Valeria Baroni, Institutional and International Relations Arexpo SpA. In his speech he stressed the importance of the role of companies in imagining and implementing innovative solutions for the future and encouraged young people to engage more and more in creating a more sustainable world through concrete ideas and projects.
The US Ambassador finally presented the award to the first-placed team with the project “CloudLamp”, together with Tiziano Durante, Data Center Lead Italian Region Microsoft.
