SOCIAL INNOVATION CAMPUS 2025. VI edition “TALENTS 4 SOCIAL INNOVATION: SKILLS IN COMPLEXITY”
The SOCIAL INNOVATION CAMPUS of Fondazione Triulza is back on February 26th and 27th, 2025! The Social Innovation Campus, the main event in Italy about Social Innovation, offers free acivities for young people and students of Secondary Schools, IFTS and ITS courses, Universities and recent graduates. The next edition will be held on February 26th and 27th, 2025 in MIND Milano Innovation District. The activities will take place in-person and online, to give the opportunity to participate to students from all regions of Italy and also from abroad. The initiatives are free and they are in line with the purposes of the Pathways for Soft Skills and Guidance (PCTO, formerly school-work alternation) and Citizenship Education. It will be possible to request the release of a certificate of participation from Fondazione Triulza. Places are limited, so we recommend interested schools and classes to pre-register to ensure participation and include the chosen activities in the educational project for the 2024/2025 school year.

Social Innovation Campus
The Campus is one of the main events in Italy about Social Innovation and it offers students and young people the opportunity to experiment and learn about sustainability, innovation and social impact, to orientate themselves on the jobs and skills of future, to work on soft skills, transversal skills and civic education issues. All the Campus initiatives are organized in collaboration with the network of founders and partners of Fondazione Triulza. The aim is to involve schools and young people in moments of discussion, experimentation and co-planning, and in the interaction with different realities: social sector and civil economy, start-ups and technological companies, universities and research centres, local bodies, profit and social enterprises and stakeholders of MIND – Milano Innovation District.
In the first five editions, the Social Innovation Campus involved over 32,000 people, of which about 21,310 young people and students from secondary schools, IFTS and ITS courses, universities and recent graduates. The initiatives of the Campus are free and they meet the objectives of the PCTO (Pathways for Soft Skills and Guidance) or Citizenship Education.
THE THEME: “TALENTS 4 SOCIAL INNOVATION: SKILLS IN COMPLEXITY”
“The 21st century will be the century of complexity” (Stephen Hawking)
The theme of 2025 will be complexity and in particular the skills necessary to understand it and to act facing social, economic and environmental changes. The theme will be discussed during the Opening Event of the Social Innovation Campus and will be a starting point for the activities and events of the Campus.
ACTIVITIES FOR SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS
The Social Innovation Campus offers initiatives for schools both IN-PERSON and ONLINE, to give students from all regions of Italy and also from abroad the opportunity to participate.
Places are limited, so we suggest schools to pre-register to ensure their participation and to be able to include the chosen initiatives in the educational project for the 2024/2025 school year.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES FOR SCHOOLS
HACKATHON: CITIES AND SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION
The Hackathon is a co-design process in which student teams will compete by devising solutions for the cities of the future, following the challenges. The Social Innovation Campus offers two Hackathon paths: one in person, which will take place during the two days of the Campus, and one online which will start in January and end on the second day of the Campus. There will be prizes for a total of €4,000 for the two Hackathons and a special Microsoft prize of €500.
IN-PERSON PATH – February 26 and 27, 2025 in MIND – Milano Innovation District
The co-planning process of the HACKATHON in PRESENCE will take place over the 2 days of the Campus. The theme of the challenges will be the creation of innovative solutions to create welcoming, sustainable and inclusive cities for all. Details:
- Reserved for teams of students of the same class or a group of students from different classes, of the 4th and 5th year of the 2nd grade Secondary Schools, of the 4th year of the leFP courses and IFTS courses, of all addresses.
- Each team must be coordinated by at least one teacher from their school.
- The aim is to elaborate concepts or design ideas of innovations or technological applications that can be realized and useful for the creation of welcoming, sustainable and inclusive cities for all.
- The teams will have the opportunity to meet the mentors of the companies proposing the challenges during the two days.
- The challenges will be announced on February 26th, the first day of the Campus.
- During February 26th and 27th 2025, during the Campus, each team will be engaged in the development of its own project and in mini challenges with the other teams.
ONLINE COURSE – from JANUARY to 27 FEBRUARY 2025
The co-planning process of the HACKATHON online will take place from January and will end in the 2 days of the Campus, and it is about the creation of innovative solutions towards welcoming, sustainable and inclusive cities for all. Details:
- Reserved for teams of students of the same class or a group of interclass students, of the 4th and 5th year of the 2nd grade Secondary Schools, of the 4th year of the leFP courses and IFTS courses, of all addresses.
- Each team must be coordinated by at least one teacher from their school.
- The aim is to elaborate concepts or design ideas of innovations or technological applications that can be realized and useful for the creation of welcoming, sustainable
- and inclusive cities for all.
- The challenges will be announced in January 2025 and will be illustrated during the online workshops. Participation in at least one of the workshops is mandatory.
- The teams will start developing their project in January and have to deliver it by 19/02/2025.
- On 26th and 27th February 2025, each team will be engaged in online presentations of its project and in mini challenges with the other teams.
ONLINE AND IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS
The target are all classes and students of the Secondary Schools of II grade (from 1 to 5 years), the Vocational Training Institutes (from 1 year to 4 year) and the IFTS and ITS courses can participate. The classes participating in the workshops in presence will be engaged in different activities for the morning or part of the afternoon.
Initiatives for university students and recent graduates will also take place.
Together with the partners of the Campus we organize:
- Thematic workshops (1 to 5 hours) on science, technology, innovation, Agenda 2030 and sustainability.
- Workshops dedicated to orientation (for 4th and 5th grade) about new professions and skills, on how to face a job interview, face the new professional challenges of tomorrow, become young generative leaders.
- As part of the Cultural Programme open to all, there will be inspirational workshops with speakers and testimonies from the economic, scientific, technological and social sectors.
